ROM patcher for Mac

Mac users get the same browser tool as everyone else, plus MultiPatch when they want a native window. MultiPatch 2.0, from sappharad, targets macOS 10.9 or newer. It applies BPS, IPS, UPS, PPF, xdelta, BSDiff, and RUP, and it can create BPS, IPS, PPF, xdelta, and BSDiff. There is a command-line build as well. I cite the project page for that list. I do not add an Apple Silicon line, because the page I checked says 10.9 or newer and nothing about native versus translated builds.

macOS may block software that lacks the signatures or notarization it expects. Check the project’s provenance and Apple’s current instructions before allowing an app. Archive Utility opens the zip. If a patch arrives as .7z, you need a third-party extractor. The browser path avoids that install. Creator mode in the browser covers small IPS and BPS without MultiPatch.

Lunar IPS has no Mac build in the record I used. NUPS is a .NET program and I am not claiming Mono on macOS. Delta Patcher lists macOS among its systems, which is the route for a large xdelta if MultiPatch's xdelta path is not the one a readme names. When two tools both claim xdelta, follow the readme's name.

Emulators people pair with this are OpenEmu and mGBA. Related pages: MultiPatch's row on the tools index, the Windows page, and the safety page. This site does not ship a dmg.

Questions

Does MultiPatch support Apple Silicon?

The project page I checked does not say. I am leaving that blank rather than assuming Rosetta or a native slice.

Gatekeeper will not open the app.

Use the context-menu Open on the app you downloaded from the project. Do not turn off the check for every developer.
